Falconry Experience
For those who wish to learn more about the ancient art of falconry, perhaps you may like to experience the thrill of flying birds of prey for yourself. We have designed a number of different experience options for you to choose from, whether you are a complete beginner or have had some previous experience.
a) Hawking Experience Courses
Experience handling and flying in succession both a Redtailed Hawk and a Harris Hawk to the gauntlet at one of our beautiful countryside venues and take part in their training and hunting procedures.
Available as One hour, Two hour, Half-Day and Full-Day options.
b) Falconry Beginner's Courses
A practical introduction to the basic techniques of traditional falconry with a mixture of falcons and hawks, Learn how to handle and control different raptors; learn to tie the falconer's knot and take part in the age old training procedures of yesteryear. After a coffee break, put your understanding into practise as we fly a Harris hawk free through the countryside.
Tea & coffee will be provided
Available as Two Hour , Half Day or Full Day options.
c) Fly a Harris' Hawk
Under the guidance of a professional falconer, you will be shown how to handle and call in one of our team of hawks from the trees, as we gently walk through the beautiful Sussex countryside.
d) Hawking Weekend
Spend the whole weekend, flying a number of different hawks, buzzards and falcons, across the English countryside practising one of the world's oldest field sports, far from the pressures of the modern world.
e) Five Day Falconry Preparation Course
An in-depth course which should give would-be falconers the confidence to decide whether this is the sport for them. An intense study of all aspects of falconry, backed up with practical experience with a number of different species of raptor.

NB: For the practical experience courses shown above, all children under the age of twelve need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian and children under 5 may watch but not participate.
