Hello, I am Bindita Chaudhuri from Kolkata, India. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington under the guidance of Prof. Linda Shapiro. Previously, I did my masters in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and received my Bachelors degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

My research interests are in the fields of computer vision, machine learning, computer graphics and computational photography. I am interested in photorealistic 3D human avatar generation for immersive AR/VR storytelling and virtual communication. In particular, I work on human facial expression modeling using deep learning frameworks and real-time facial motion retargeting from 2D images to 3D characters.

Apart from studies, I love playing synthesizer, listening to music and swimming.
