This week we focused on Israel! We explored pictures of the people, the land, and the architecture. Each of us had an opportunity to pick one picture we connected with and share it with our class. We "drew" a larger-than-life map of Israel on the carpet with blue tape and learned where major cities are on the map. The second half of the morning was spent in ulpan - learning some modern Hebrew!

Our class focused on genocide and not standing by while others are being hurt or injured. We watched excerpts from the film "Paperclips" and discussed the differnce we can make in the world.

Utilizing modern technology and a big-screen TV, we learned about the Jewish partisans who actively resisted the evil of the NAZIs during WWII. We discussed some of the stories of the individuals we learned about and found out what it takes to stand up and resist when the majority is against you.
