The State University of New York Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC) is  part of a network of 10 EOC’s and 2 Outreach Centers throughout New York State. Founded in 1966, BEOC provides tuition free academic and career training to over 1600 eligible New York residents annually. Free tutoring, internship and job placement services are provided to students and alumni.

EOC Eligibility Requirements. 

Minimum eligibility requirements are BEOC programs and services are set by our the University Center for Academic and Workforce Development (UCAWD).

All applicants to BEOC must meet minimum eligibility requirements for consideration.
 
To be considered applicants must be:
  • 18 years of age or older (17 w/high school diploma, GED or TASC Diploma)
  • US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Refugee
  • Resident of NY State for at least 1 year prior to enrollment
  • High School Diploma or GED required for all career and college prep applicants
  • Low to moderate income
  • Individuals with greater than 33 college credits or a college degree are not eligible
  • Security Guard applicants must have ability to pass background check.
