About Us

How the Harbour Authority of Blacks & Beaver Harbour was founded:
A notice was put in the newspaper March 12, 1995 asking for anyone interested in forming a Harbour Authority to contact Jim Hawkins, and several meetings were held at the Pennfield Fire Hall, Fundy Nursing Home Board Room ect. On April 2, 1996 the following people Miller Morrell, James Hawkins, Brendon Armstrong, Reid Hatt, Gordie Eldridge, Gordon Dugas, and Rudy Tucker met with Charles Gaudett of the Small Craft Harbour and signede the first Corporate Seal.

The vessel "Camel" (120 feet), left New York Augest 23 with 254 passengers, arrived in Saint John, NB on August 18, 1783. At this time they took on provisions and arrived in Beaver Harbour on September 28, 1783 with Quakers. 80 Baptist Loyalists and other refugees.
