Rules & Waiver

WELCOME RIDERS!

The Sea to Sky Highway (Hwy 99) is one of the most beautiful roads in the world for riding (and driving and cycling - Share the Road).

ICBC's accident map shows that there are far less number of motorcycle accidents on this highway than cars.  However, a few accidents and speeding incidents have portrayed motorcyclists as dangerous on this Highway.  We wish to change this misconception by demonstrating safe riding on the Salmon Run!  Please read and follow these rules:

Riding Rules

All riders and passengers participating in the Salmon Run shall observe and obey all traffic laws in effect.

Please show up with full tank of gas, and empty bladder before departing :)

Ride in small groups (no more than 8 recommended).  Make new friends by forming a small riding group during breakfast.

Allow cars to enter and exit the highway between motorcycle groups.

Ride in staggered formation.

If you lose your group, ride at your own pace and enjoy the ride.

If you have any trouble, pull over where safe to do so.  A sweep car will come by to help.

Prizes

Many sponsors have donated prizes to make this event more successful, fun and rewarding.  Each meal ticket will be entered into a ramdom draw for prizes.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER THE PRIZE DRAW.  If you wish to participate in the draw without buying a meal ticket, one complimentary prize ticket will be given to you if you write a paragraph, with no less than 100 words, stating how you learned about the event, why you decide to participate  and how you have or intend to support this event to achieve each of its four goals.

In consideration for being permitted to participate in the Event, I hereby waive, release, and forever discharge, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and legal representatives, any and all rights and/or claims which I have, may have, or may hereafter accrue to me against Baggers & Hawgs Ride to Live Association (the "Organizer"), its officers, directors, employees, consultants, agents, licensees, assigns and Event sponsors for any and all damages, injuries (including death), and/or claims which may be sustained by me or my vehicle directly or indirectly arising out of my participation in the Event (including the application of emergency or medical services at the Event) even if the damages, injuries (including death), and/or claims are caused by the negligence of those persons listed above or otherwise. Further, I covenant not to sue the Organizer, its officers, directors, employees, consultants, agents, licensees, assigns and Event sponsors for any and all damages, injuries (including death), and/or claims which may be sustained by me directly or indirectly arising out of my participation in the Event. This release and discharge includes, but is not limited to, claims for personal injury, death, property damage, economic loss, breach of contract, lost wages, contribution indemnity, indemnity, punitive damages, negligence, or any other legally recognizable claim arising out of my participation in the Event (including all legal costs associated with such claims).

I hereby agree to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Organizer, its officers, directors, employees, consultants, agents, licensees, assigns and Event sponsors from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, suits, liabilities or actions arising directly or indirectly out of my actions or otherwise from my participation in the Event whether made or claimed during or after the Event, including all associated costs and expenses and any amounts which the Organizer may pay as a settlement or compromise of any such claims or liabilities.
