January Club Walk: The Roaches

Our first club walk of the new decade!

A good turnout by club members and an early start were rewarded with ample parking at the Roaches laybys, and the sort of clear and crisp winter day that we all dream about (but which has seemed in rather short supply in recent weeks).

We spent the most beautiful day walking out and back along the Roaches skyline, explored the lost-world chasm of Lud's Church, and admired the massive overhang of 'The Sloth' on the upper tier, before rewarding our stretched-legs with coffee and cake at the Tea Rooms.

A great day, but I conspired to take only the worst photographs possible, so I'll be relying on the charity of others to decorate this article: I'll post pictures when they become available.

If you'd like to join us on our next walk in February - an eastern Peak District day along the Derwent Edges - pop along to The Station Hotel, Worksop, at 8pm on Wednesday 5th, or check our Facebook group for walk details. Bassetlaw Hill and Mountain Club FB Group
