Donating and Fund Raising
As with all charities, we rely upon donations which may be used in many different ways:
To make a donation for any particular reason:
You may use this link (VirginMoneyGiving.com/BarrettsWessex) for any reason. If you or someone you know wishes to raise funds for BW but don't wish to set up your own page, you may give this link and ask them to mention you by name when donating.
Visitors to this page will be taken to a Virgin Money Giving page who, if you are eligible, will claim back Gift Aid on our behalf and credit the money to our bank account.
You may also use PayPal.me/BarrettsWessex. If you use this method to make a general donation and are a UK tax payer, please email us your details and authority to claim Gift Aid or add it to the comments box when you make the donation.
You may also use Facebook as a fundraiser. eg you can recognise an event by asking friends to donate to us. Donations received this way are handled by PayPal Giving Fund through whom you may also make direct donations on this page.
If you sell on eBay, you have the option of donating a proportion (10% to 100%) of the sale price to BW. These payments are also handled by PayPal Giving Fund.
EasyFundRaising is an initiative for anyone who shops online. It costs nothing. You just need to sign up here and anytime you shop online from a participating retailer, a small percentage is donated to us.
Barrett's Wessex does not directly fund research but any donations for research are passed to Barrett's Oesophagus UK, who maintain the UK Barrett's Registry which is an invaluable source of data for researchers.To donate towards research, please click here.

Donations towards Awareness Raising will be applied to any local publicity we may be engaged in or may be contributed to the consortium of charities, "Action Against Heartburn" of which we are a member.
This group has produced a training pack for GPs and negotiated with Department of Health "Be Clear On Cancer" campaigns.

To make your donation go further at no extra cost to you, if you complete a Gift Aid form, downloadable from the bottom of this page, we can claim an extra 25p from the government for every £1 you donate.
From time to time, we may have volunteers undertaking fund raising ventures for which separate fund raising pages are set up through Virgin Money Giving (usually towards our current appeal).
