Keeping the Flames of History Alive

In the words of Sarah Day Woodward, “So the torch is passed on from generation to generation, and it is hoped that some of the young people now growing up, may have sufficient interest in our early history to keep the flame alive”.

Whats New

The FHS has an extensive collection of artifacts that spans hundreds of years of Franklin history. We are continuing the effort to digitize the FHS collections into Past Perfect software in conjunction with the Ashbel Woodward Museum. Along with the digitization process the collections are being moved into archival storage for safe keeping. We are always happy to consider accepting Franklin or Franklin related items and papers into the collection.

We will not allow the pandemic to slow us down. We are actively planning a trio of walks to take place in the Spring, Summer, and Fall to some rarely seen points of interest in Franklin. These walks will be free to members and open to non-members for a fee. Watch for more information in the coming months.
