UNITED STATES

The largest stronghold of Anglican Churches was in Colonial Virginia where the Anglican Church was the state religion - if you were not Anglican prior to the American Revolution but living in Virginia you were considered a nonconformist / dissenter.

Though New England's religion prior to the Revolution was Congregationalist Anglican churches could still be found there and they had many congregations throughout the middle colonies.
