For the past ten years, the OpenOffice.org community has developed, supported, and promoted the world's leading open-source office productivity suite. We have attracted the support of tens of thousands of individuals and corporate bodies during this period.
We now call on all our supporters to follow us into the next phase of our development, as we become an independent Foundation. Our values We commint ourselves:- to eliminate the digital divide in society by giving everyone access to office productivity tools free of charge to enable them to participate as full citizens in the 21st century
- the ownership of office productivity tools by monopoly suppliers which imposes a de-facto tax on global electronic free speech and penalises the economically disadvantaged
- to support the preservation of mother tongues by encouraging all peoples to translate, document, support, and promote our office productivity tools in their mother tongue
- to an open and transparent peer-reviewed software development process where technical excellence is valued
We reject: - the creeping domination of computer desktops by a single language forcing people to learn a foreign language before they can express themselves electronically
- to allow users of office productivity software to retain the intellectual property in the documents they create by use of open document formats and open standards
- the ownership of file formats by proprietary software companies - documents belong to their creators, not software vendors
- a closed software development process where errors can lie hidden and poor quality is accepted
Our way of workingOur core values lead us to believe in the following way of working: - the home for our activities should be an independent self-governing democratic foundation
- membership of the foundation will be open to any individual who agrees with our core values and contributes to our activities
- we encourage corporate participation, e.g. by sponsoring individuals to work as equals alongside other contributors in the community
The Foundation will be realised in a not for profit organisation which will own assets and conduct financial and legal transactions on behalf of the Community | Durant els últims deu anys, la comunitat OpenOffice.org ha desenvolupat, i va promoure el líder mundial de codi obert suite de productivitat d'oficina. Hem atret el suport de desenes de milers de persones i entitats durant aquest període. Fem una crida a tots els nostres seguidors que ens segueixen en la següent fase del nostre desenvolupament, ens convertim en una fundació independent. - per donar suport a la preservació de les llengües maternes mitjançant el foment de tots els pobles a traduir, documentar, donar suport i promoure les nostres eines de productivitat d'oficina en la seva llengua materna
- a un obert i transparent peer-reviewed procés de desenvolupament de programari on es valora l'excel·lència tècnica
Rebutgem:
- la dominació progressiva dels ordinadors de sobretaula per un sol idioma obligant a la gent a aprendre un idioma estranger abans que puguin expressar-se per mitjans electrònics
- permetre als usuaris de programari de productivitat d'oficina per retenir la propietat intel · lectual en els documents que creen mitjançant l'ús de formats oberts de documents i els estàndards oberts
- la propietat dels formats d'arxiu de les empreses de programari propietari - documents pertanyen als seus creadors, no els venedors de programari
- un procés de desenvolupament de programari tancat, on els errors poden estar ocults la qualitat i els pobres s'accepta
La nostra forma de treballar
Els nostres valors centrals ens porten a pensar de la manera de treballar: - la llar de les nostres activitats ha de ser una independent i autònoma base democràtica
- membres de la fundació estarà oberta a qualsevol persona que estigui d'acord amb els nostres valors fonamentals i contribueix a les nostres activitats
- animem a la participació empresarial, per exemple, mitjançant el patrocini de les persones a treballar d'igual a igual al costat d'altres col·laboradors de la comunitat
La Fundació es durà a terme en una organització sense ànim de lucre que tenen actius i realitzar transaccions financeres i legals en nom de la Comunitat |
