Three unique jewels to be exhibited in  Jovella 2008

Staff, Jun 20 2008

Three one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry, especially created to celebrate Israel’s 60th anniversary will be featured at Jovella 2008.

The jewels use precious stones and diamonds and reflect concepts based on ancient Jewish and kabbalistic sources.

The 'State of Israel Ring' denotes Israel’s independence. Created in the form of a burst of fireworks, it is made up of 48 emeralds - to symbolize 1948, the year that Israel was established - with a black diamond at the center, symbolizing the centrality of Jerusalem toall religions. The color of the emeralds symbolizes the “green” movement - the importance of protecting the environment.  The ring is set in platinum.

Jovella 2008 is an international jewellery exhibition to be held in Tel Aviv from 1 July to 3 July.

The jewels are designed by Haifa-based jeweler Abraham Elisha and will be displayed at the entrance to the exhibition but are not for sale.

“Inspiration in designing these jewels originated from his interest in Jewish spirituality and history,” said the jewel designer, Abraham Elisha.

IDI Group of Companies is sponsoring the exhibition as part of its strategy of enhancing cooperation between the diamond and jewelry industries in Israel. The exhibition is being organized by the Stier Group.

Jovella 2008 is expected to feature 200 exhibitors in the categories of gold, silver, diamonds, precious stones, fashion jewelry, Judaica, watches and pens.
