Bermuda Intergroup

What is BIC?

BIC is the Bermuda Intergroup Committee, which is comprised of individuals representing each of the Home Groups of the various meetings in Bermuda. Like all of AA, BIC’s primary purpose is to carry the AA message to the alcoholic who still suffers.

What does BIC do?

BIC exists to aid the various Home Groups in achieving their common purpose and carry out certain functions common to all groups. In particular:

  • By providing an AA listing in the Bermuda phone book those seeking help have a number that they can call with inquiries.

  • As needed, the BIC may publish and distribute up-to-date lists of meetings and other information about AA services in Bermuda.

  • BIC orders AA literature for distribution among the Home Groups and to alcoholics seeking information. Its premises houses the literature brought in from abroad and is available for purchase by the Home Groups.

  • BIC works in cooperation and partnership with the Public Information Committee (PIC) to communicate with and provide information to the community and supports the efforts of the PIC financially.

  • BIC helps to disseminate information, through its committee members, regarding events taking place in the AA community.

  • BIC liaises with the Bermuda Convention Committee in connection with the annual Bermuda Convention held in November of each year and the fundraising events leading up to the Convention.

  • BIC provides a forum for matters of interest to the AA community in Bermuda at large to be discussed.

How can I get involved?

If you would like to get involved in the BIC, speak to the members of your Home Group to let them know that this is a service position you would like to take on. BIC meets on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Wesley Methodist Church on Church Street, Hamilton.
