To create leaders, promote STEAM, and show Gracious Professionalism through designing, building, and programming robots.

Welcome to the website of FTC team 535 TOBOR. This is our 16th year as a team making us the oldest team in Indiana and one of the most experienced in the world. During our time in FTC we have earned a multitude of awards and have been to worlds. We are excited to be back for Power Play this year. Good luck to all teams, and feel free to contact us with any questions or requests for help.

Why We are Involved in FIRST:  We believe that FIRST is a great opportunity for students to learn about technology.  As a robotics team, it is important to us to inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators through outreach to our community.  We are involved in FIRST because we not only want to be involved in engineering and technology ourselves, but we also want to reach out to others to increase awareness of STEM.  We want to spread the message of FIRST, For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, as far as we can, both to local industries and to younger students.

 What Our Team Stands For

Though our team name is simply “robot” spelled backwards, we understand that robotics is much more than simply building a robot. FTC robotics is not only about engineering, design, and computer science. It also is a nurturing environment for members to learn other skills like business, writing, team management, leadership, communication, and so much more.

We have so many amazing memories from our time as a team.  During Skystone, as we reflected on all the time and work we had spent together collaborating, learning, and leading, we came up with a set of values that encompass our robotics program. When put into an acrostic, our six values spell out “robots,” displaying how much really goes into a robotics team.

 The Med-Bot

Our team mascot, TOBOR the Med-Bot is very important to our team. As he is represented by our plushies and will be featured as the main character in our soon to be coming comic, he's well integrated into our team.

TOBOR was designed around 2015 as a symbol of our teams role in the robotics community. As the oldest team in the state, we have acted as a leader for others in FTC. We work with other teams often, have been quite involved in the community, and host the state competition each year. We really do love our role in the community, and hope to be the best leaders we can in the coming years.
