Every year our SkillsUSA students participate in the Regional State SkillsUSA competition in Syracuse, NY.  This year with over 20 students participating three of our students were successful.  A 1st Place win for Ms. Kerry McKeon, from our Culinary Arts class, a 1st Place win for Ms. Sarah Santaro, from our Cosmetology class, and a 3rd Place win for Ms. Elizabeth Ramos, also from our Culinary Arts class.

Our two 1st Place winners are headed this summer to Kansas City, MI for the National SkillsUSA competition, where they will face stiff "national" competition in their trade areas.  At stake, the possibility of thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships for these students.

On Friday, June 7th, the SkillsUSA Chapter will be holding its annual fundraiser, the CTI Field Day.  Students will be allowed to participate in team sports, tug-of-war, and buy hot dogs, burgers and drinks in an effort to raise funds for the National SkillsUSA competition.   I hope you can make it.

Respectfully submitted,

The CTI SkillsUSA Chapter recently took some action to support our troops by collecting hard candy from the students.  The candy was placed in individual plastic bags and tied with a ribbon.  The box they delivered weighed about 15 pounds worth of various hard candy for the troops.  The candy was delivered to the local VFW Post #170 for the Semper Fi Parents of the Hudson Valley on Monday, Dec 10th, 2012.  This is an action on behalf of the SkillsUSA Chapter membership.  WE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!
