CTE: Making the Difference

CTE is leading positive change in secondary, postsecondary and adult education, with innovative programs that are making a difference nationwide. CTE: Making the Difference is a high-energy 3-minute video highlighting the many ways CTE is working for America by improving high school graduation rates, lowering drop outs rates, and increasing the number of students going on to college. This real-world success story is being told everyday by CTE students across the country as they experience higher achievement in college and career. And it’s loaded with real-world facts and examples that illuminate the importance of CTE and its impact on students, the economy, and the nation.

The Culinary Arts Class of Chef Sala produced a wonderful all chocolate dessert... Pigs in a tub?  Pigs in Chocolate?  Call it what you want, but please call it delicious!

    Chef Dan Tierney, CTI Culinary Arts Instructor, supports a cooperative work experience for his students to participate in the food preparation and delivery of a full menu to the Millbrook Annual Harvest Party in Millbrook, New York.  Listen to the students express their opinions about their paid work experience.   Special Thanks to all the students who volunteered for this video session.  And congratulations to all the students who participated.

  • CTI STUDENTS TAKE THE GOLD AT THE SKILLSUSA REGIONALS APRIL 2013 Every year our SkillsUSA students participate in the Regional State SkillsUSA competition in Syracuse, NY.  This year with over 20 students participating three of our students were successful.  A 1st Place win for Ms. Kerry McKeon, from our Culinary Arts class, a 1st Place win for Ms. Sarah Santaro, from our Cosmetology class, and a 3rd Place win for Ms. Elizabeth Ramos, also from our Culinary Arts class. Our two 1st Place winners are headed this summer to Kansas City, MI for the National SkillsUSA competition, where they will face stiff "national" competition in their trade areas.  At stake, the possibility of thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships for these students.
