GWHS Alumni Association

We Are Eagles For LIFE!

Founded in 1952, the GWHS Alumni Association's mission is to ensure Washington High's status as San Francisco's leading comprehensive public high school, enable faculty to provide students with opportunity for academic success at Washington and beyond, and strengthen graduates' bonds with each other and with GWHS.

We give grants for classroom supplies and student activities unobtainable due to budget limitations, and bestow more than two dozen scholarships and nine Principal's Cup awards. We provide news about alumni, the school, reunions and related events to over 6,000 alumni members through our mailed and emailed news and social media.

We honor and celebrate alumni: The extraordinarily accomplished with Hall of Merit Awards, and the extraordinarily dedicated with Annabelle Marsh Piercy Lifetime Service Awards. We document and preserve Washington's rich history by conducting oral history interviews and compiling donated artifacts for its archives, with the goal of establishing a permanent public display.
