Mrs. Santanello

Mrs. Santanello is a cellist, conductor, and teacher specializing in string instruments. In 2012, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a concentration in violoncello and a Minor in Music History from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She comes to Parkland from El Sistema Lehigh Valley, a youth orchestra and social outreach program of the Allentown Symphony which focuses on using music to build a community and encourage positive social change. In her time with El Sistema, she served as Director of Orchestras and Program Manager. Prior to being with El Sistema, Mrs. Santanello taught band and secondary general music at Lehigh Valley Academy.

Mrs. Santanello plays cello professionally in the Lehigh Valley. She has performed cello with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, the Bucks County Symphony Orchestra and the Moravian Community Orchestra. She consistently performs in musicals at Muhlenberg College, DeSales University, and the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival and also enjoys playing for weddings and other events with the Silver Strings Quartet. Mrs. Santanello has a private studio of talented cello students who have been accepted into a variety of PMEA festivals and junior orchestras. Although Mrs. Santanello's primary instrument is the cello, she loves to play all of the string family instruments, sing, and play guitar! She also plays the euphonium and is the Personnel Manager of the Quakertown Band, which her husband conducts. Her husband is also a music teacher, teaching high school band in North Penn School District. Along with their dog, Sophie, their cat, Milo, and their bird, Figaro-their music makes for a loud household!
