Kia ora, Nau mai, Haere mai!

We are situated in the heart of Ormond, 23km from Gisborne.  Ormond School is the oldest school on the Poverty Bay flats and we are very proud of our past, present and future - we have been growing great kids since 1874!

Our school vision is "Growing Great People".  Underpinning this are our core values of Respect, Resilience, Responsibility and Reflection (our 4R's) and our learner qualities of Self Managing, Collaborative, Communicator, Thinker, Confidence, Perseverance and Connected.

We currently have 4 learning hubs and a total staff of 10. We are a forward thinking school focused on our students as 21st Century learners, but still treasure the fact that our kids are country kids attending a kiwi country school.

We have many family orientated events during the year including our overnight camps, parent evenings and our annual Pet Day. We are very appreciative and grateful of the help we get from our local community, which includes many past families who continue to have strong connections to Ormond School.

We have a dedicated staff who strive to make learning fun for our akonga.

Ka waimarie matou ki nga akonga hou ki to maatau kura o Ormond.  Tena koa kia whakapau mai ki a au mehemea kei te ahua o te kura a Ormond te kura tika mo koe.

We welcome new students to our Ormond School family. Please get in contact with me if Ormond School feels like the right school for you.
