HOW DO FEEL ABOUT BEING ACCEPTED TO THE WASHINGTON COLLEGE SCHOLARS' PROGRAM?

It was already a great accomplishment just being accepted to this institution, so being accepted to the scholars program made me feel even more proud. I was one of 10 students who were selected for this position. I would have not accomplished this without the people who were always there supporting me through this journey. I will take this opportunity and give the school no reason to regret choosing me. I know that this is just the start of a new life that waits for me in my future. I feel so accomplished because I have started to make my parents proud and to prove to society that people of color are capable of pursuing their dreams. I can now say that I am a role model for my younger siblings!

I managed to graduate High School in three years by being on top of my school work. This wasn’t an easy journey as it required hard work and determination. It was very critical for me to maintain a positive attitude throughout these years since high school is definitely more stressful than middle school. My desire is to always make my parents proud and make a difference in society. This is what pushes me through any and every obstacle.
