Academic Resources for Students and Parents


If a parent or student needs more technical support, who can they contact? If parents and/or students need help with Canvas, they can click the help icon within Canvas and file a help ticket. The help ticket goes to the district’s Canvas administrator who is available remotely during this time. For help with Google or other district technology resources, please email techsupport@lgsuhsd.org Our Technology Team is working remotely and will be responding to requests during school hours.

Trouble connecting to your Zoom Meetings?

Please try these three fixes:

  • If you get the pop-up that says it's an internal meeting. Leave the meeting. Then on the right of your Zoom app window, it says "Sign-in with Google" Click that link, enter your school email address and school password. Then go back to the meeting link and click it again.
  • If you are not on a Chromebook and you are using the web browser interface, you should scroll down to the bottom of the login window and use the Google Authentication choice to login using your school email address and password.
  • We recommend you download the desktop client or use the mobile app. The Zoom Web Portal does not allow access to restricted meetings which many teachers are using for extra security.

Accessing Your Technology Accounts

Student Accounts - technology accounts have been created for all students. Several communications have been sent with instructions on how to access these accounts. A helpful infographic and complete instructions are posted.

G Suite

Start by going to the District password change portal. Once you have enrolled on the site, you can reset your default Google and wifi password to a more secure one Complete instructions are located here.

Your G Suite student login name will be in the following format:

<First three letters of Last Name><First Name Initial><Last 4 digits of Student ID>@lgsstudent.org

For example: Diana Prince Student ID 123456 has the email address prid3456@lgsstudent.org

If your last name is three or fewer characters, use your entire last name.

You are responsible for any unauthorized use of your account. Passwords can be reset by using the Password Portal or visiting the tech office

Graduating students can use Google Take-out when they graduate from our district. Julie Grenier sends an email out every April with a timeline and instructions on how to save Google Drive contents, as well as any work in Turnitin (a separate system). Accounts will remain active through August 1. After that date, accounts, including email and drive will be disabled. Accounts will not be deleted overall for one year. Desperate students can contact Julie Grenier to retrieve any information they need after August 1.

WIFI

Your username for school wifi is the part of your email address BEFORE @lgsstudent.org

For example: Diana Prince Student ID 123456 has the wifi user name of prid3456

Students should connect to the lgswifi SSID on their cellphones/devices/laptops

Drop by Tech Services if your personal device won't connect to lgswifi.

Naviance: Initial access and passwords are assigned to freshmen when you meet with your counselors.

Aeries Access

Students: After you have successfully logged in to your District Gmail account, go to https://lgsuhsd.asp.aeries.net/student click the Forgot Password link and follow the prompts. Enter your District email address in the box and click Next. The system will send a reset password link to your District email. If you do not see the message in your inbox, check your spam folder. It may take up to an hour for the message to be delivered. Open the message and click the link to set a password.

Parents: You should have received a new account email when you enrolled your student. It most likely is in your spam or junk mail folder. If you do not see the new account email, go to https://lgsuhsd.asp.aeries.net/student , click the Forgot Password link and enter your email address in the form. The system will send you a reset password email. It may take up to an hour to be delivered - be sure to check your spam or junk mail folder. If you receive an error message indicating that your email address is not in the system, or would like an Aeries account to access your student’s information, please contact your school’s office for assistance.

Student Privacy:

LGSUHSD APP Agreements Student privacy laws mitigate the need to have clarity on what APP's you can safely use in schools. APP's must follow acceptable use district guidelines in concert with LCAP and agreed Board adopted curriculum. Read about privacy with F3/CETPA/counties/schools Any online software, extension, or add-on used on District Chromebooks/Laptops/Devices by students must adhere to the CA student privacy agreement in order to be considered for use.

Best Practices

  • Never allow a browser to save or store your password to email, Aeries, etc.
  • Do a practice run before presenting electronic material in class
  • Save and backup your documents often
  • Log out of your email, Aeries, Naviance, and other accounts when finished
  • Check if our content filter allows your site before presenting it in class
