Good Standing Requirements

In order to remain in the Heritage program, students must maintain "good standing" status at the end of every year. This includes maintaining the required minimum grades and adherence to the Honor Code.

Requirements:

  • All students must maintain "A-G" eligibility by earning grades of "C-" or better and a minimum non-weighted cumulative GPA of 2.0 in all "A-G" courses (core and elective).

  • All students must maintain class citizenship marks of "Satisfactory" (S) or "Outstanding" (O).

  • Traditional Heritage students must maintain a minimum non-weighted cumulative GPA of 3.0.

  • Honors/AP Heritage students must maintain a minimum non-weighted cumulative GPA of 3.5.

  • Abide by the Honor Code (no issues of academic or behavioral misconduct).

  • If a student is not in good standing at the end of the 1st semester, they must earn and maintain good standing requirements by the end of the 2nd semester. If a student is not in good standing for two consecutive semesters, then they will either be removed from the program (if in the traditional pathway) or brought down to the traditional pathway (if in the Honors/AP pathway).

  • If a student finishes the 1st semester in good standing, but fails to finish the 2nd semester in similar fashion, then they will not be removed from the program, but will be recommended to consider a different, more appropriate program or pathway placement.

  • Parents will be notified if a student has violated their probationary status and/or if they are being removed from the Heritage program or Honors/AP pathway for a different, more appropriate program or pathway to foster and promote their success.

*The only time a student may be recommended for removal from the Heritage program after a 1st semester good standing violation would be in cases of unique, extenuating circumstances, gross misplacement, or parent/student requests.
