THEME - A Changing World Just by being on Earth, at any given moment, and doing something or even nothing we are already changing the world. We live in an evolving world, but we need to be reminded that the important things have not altered, and will not, if we keep our priorities in proper order. This exhibition, organized by ROY G BIV Gallery for Emerging Artists, our partner for twenty years in Image Ohio presents ImageOHIO, a juried exhibition of the best lens-based art including: photography, new media art, film and video, as determined by our jurors. ROY defines new media as digital technologies including: streaming, virtual & augmented reality and broadcasting. For 2022 we were accepted to be part of the Biennial photography and technology exhibition FotoFocus. Now in its sixth iteration, the Biennial activates over 100 museums, galleries, universities, and public spaces throughout Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton and Columbus, Ohio in October 2022. Jurors are Doo-Sung Yoo and Jordanne Renner. Doo-Sung Yoo is a Korean new media artist who works in the U.S. and Senior Lecturer of Art and Technology at The Ohio State University. He synthesizes scientific research within his artwork and interweaves interdisciplinary media between professional fields. He is currently focused on creating hybrid sculptural and interactive entities, in which a human performer is conjoined with disembodied animal organs integrated with electronic devices within mechanical bodies or virtual entities. His hybrids have been featured in many exhibitions and art festivals throughout Asia, Europe, and North America, and have been focal points of academic conferences and publications in S. Korea, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Russia, Canada, U.K., and the U.S.Jordanne Renner is an artist that works across many platforms including large format film photography, figurative sculpture, mural paintings, public art & installation, and the repurposing of materials for social engagements & fundraising affairs. She considers photography as an extension of her Self, which is an ongoing photographic investigation for her since 2000. Jordanne also explores topics in the culture of place, the body and landscape, and the psychology of memory. https://www.fotofocus.org/biennial/2022/
