Chief Ingram
Chief Petty Officer Daniel Ingram grew up in Aiea, Hawaii, and graduated from Radford High School, Honolulu, HI in 1982. Immediately after high school he went into the Coast Guard Reserve attending basic training in Cape May, NJ. Follow on training in the Coast Guard Reserves included Machinery Technician “A” school in Yorktown, VA. After completing school, he was assigned to Coast Guard Station Kennewick, WA.
Seeking further military involvement and to widen his skill base, Chief Ingram transferred into the active duty Navy, enlisting as an Operations Specialist. Chief attended Navy basic training in Great Lakes, IL and Navy Operations Specialist “A” school in Dam Neck, VA. As an Operations Specialist in the Navy, Chief Ingram served onboard USS Farragut (DDG-37) as the Combat Information Center (CIC) Track Supervisor, USS Waddell (DDG-24) CIC Anti-Submarine Air Controller, USS Ranger (CV-61) CIC Anti-Submarine Air Controller, USS Chosin (CG-65) Anti-Submarine Air Controller, and USS Fletcher (DD-992) Anti Surface Subsurface Tactical Air Controller. He also completed two sea duty tours while assigned to Commander Destroyer Squadron 31 (CDS-31) on board USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70). while assigned to CDS-31 Chief Ingram served as the Scheduling Officer and Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. His shore duty assignments include two tours of recruiting duty in Jackson, Mississippi and Sedalia, Missouri.
While in the Navy, Chief Ingram received numerous awards and medals to include the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6), Good Conduct Medal (4), Navy Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Medal (2), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2), Southwest Asia Service Medal (2), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Chief Ingram has also earned the Surface Warfare and Air Warfare Specialist designations.
Chief Ingram’s education background include the following degrees: Education Specialist (Ed.S) Specializing in Leadership and Supervision; Master Education (M.Ed) Specializing in Special Education; Bachelor Science (BS) in Computer Management Information Systems; Associate Arts (AA) in General Studies.
Chief Ingram retired from the Navy in July 2006. Shortly after, he gained his certification as a high school Business Teacher. He taught business courses at Cooper County R-IV (Bunceton) High School for 4 years. Having been exposed to the NJROTC program as a Navy Recruiter, Chief Ingram applied for and was granted NJROTC Naval Science Instructor (NSI) Certification in 2010 and advanced certification in 2011. Chief Ingram’s first NSI position was at Brewster, NY from 2010 to 2014. Carson High School is Chief Ingram's second NJROTC program, he started here in August 2014.
