CARROLL high BUTTERFLY GARDEN

*Welcome to the information page for the upcoming Carroll High School Butterfly Garden. This started out as an exploration in Mr. Duhrkopf's Algebra Lab class for perimeter, area, volume and surface area. As time went on the students asked if this project could become a reality. After receiving approval from the school and getting cooperation from other teachers this garden is taking shape and we hope to have a majority of it completed by the end of the 2021-22 school year. Mr Leiting's Construction Trades class will be building the flower beds and possibly the sidewalk, Mr. Eischeid's Horticulture class will be raising several plants from seed along with helping plant, the English department is in the process of designing a Little Free Library box and Ms. Lux's students will be helping with the day to day maintenance.

*UPDATE*

The sidewalk to the garden and the new classroom area have been completed this past month. Go to Facebook to see more photos.

The garden will be located on the northwest side of the building and will be approximately 44'x30' and include plants that will be Host plants for many butterflies and lots of pollinators. Below are pictures of the location and the plan for the garden.

If you have any questions or would like to provide assistance to the garden please contact Scott Duhrkopf at sduhrkopf@carrolltigers.org. We would welcome any plants that are on our list if you have extras:)
