What should I do if my laptop is slow, or not working correctly?
If your laptop is slow, or "glitchy" it may need to be updated. Students should restart their laptops daily, which will run most updates. However, if the laptop has not been restarted in a while, or continues to be slow despite regular restarts, it can be updated manually. Follow THESE DIRECTIONS to run updates on your laptop.
What happens if my laptop needs to be repaired?
Each school has loaner laptops that your school librarian can check out to you if your laptop is being repaired by CCPS Technology Services.
At this time, students may not be charged for first time repairs. However, costs may be associated with repeat repair needs. Your school administrator will evaluate if a fee will apply to repairs on student laptops.
Though the laptops are under warrenty, the AC adaptor (charger) for the laptops is not under warranty. If the charger is broken or lost, it will cost $57.00 to replace.
My laptop is missing Google Chrome. What should I do?
Depending on your internet connection, it could take some time before all of the installed programs appear on your computer. Sometimes, you may also need to restart your computer to see all of the installed programs.
However, if you still do not see Google Chrome, follow these instructions to access The Company Portal. In the Company Portal, search for Google Chrome and Install. Alternatively, you can go to Download Chrome and when prompted to put in an administrative login, close out of the pop-up window.
How do I make Google Chrome my default brower?
In the search window at the bottom left of your screen, type “default browser”
Scroll down until you see “Web Browser”. You will probably see “Edge” as your default; click the Edge icon
Select Google Chrome and close window by clicking the X in the upper right-hand corner
