The Tūranga and Ruahine Teams will remain at school and leave at approximately 10.45am to walk to the Domain.
Children will need to have the following:
Suitable footwear and mufti clothing, for running, warm clothing for before and after the race, lunch, snacks and a drink bottle (water only), any medication (e.g. inhalers).
Uniform is not required
There will be a number of teachers and parent/caregiver volunteers and senior students on the course to guide the children. If you are able to help please contact your child's classroom teachers or Pā Kyle. Sports Academy children will assist with the Ruahine and Turanga events.
Please note that children not running will remain at school. Senior children will assist the junior walk to the Domain or will possibly help on the day.
Parents/caregivers/whānau/friends are not to run with the children competing anywhere on the course as this gives an unfair advantage to the runner. Also, please refrain from walking onto the course during races. There are plenty of vantage points for spectators to view and support the children.
CHILDREN LEAVING EARLY
If you wish to take your child home please notify the team leader of your child's team, who will be situated at the finish line. They will mark them off the roll.
