Dear Earth School Families,

The Earth School was founded in 1992 by a group of teachers who wanted to build a school that would be, in their eyes, the ideal public school. A diverse community. Hands-on learning. An arts-rich curriculum. A socially- and environmentally-conscious curriculum. Focus on the whole child.

Though much has changed over the past 30 years, The Earth School remains a very special place. And the ESPA continues, year after year, to ensure that our teachers and staff have the resources to continue to carry out our school’s unique mission. We believe that all children should experience field trips, camps, and performing arts enrichment, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Each year, the ESPA commits to paying for over $40,000 of programs that benefit every student:

• Extra enrichment classes—$11,000

• Camps and field trips—$13,000

• Sex ed program for fifth graders—$8,000

• Essential classroom supplies for our incredible teachers—$5,000

• School picnic, yearbook, graduation, and other events—$5,000

To continue to fund these programs, we ask our community to support our school by giving. (We no longer ask for PA dues and this is the only time we’ll make this ask this year!).

***Families who make a one-time donation of $300 or more, or set up a recurring monthly donation of $30 before January 2nd, will receive a special Earth School 30th Anniversary tote bag as a token of our thanks! That’s $1/day to help continue the legacy of the vibrant, immersive, inclusive education that made us choose the Earth School for our children.***
