Welcome to Summit Elementary's newest space - The Summit Maker Space!

What is a maker space?
"Makerspaces, sometimes also referred to as hackerspaces, hackspaces, and fablabs are creative, DIY spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn." -  "A Librarian's Guide to Makerspaces: 16 Resources | OEDB.org." 2013. 13 Oct. 2014 <http://oedb.org/ilibrarian/a-librarians-guide-to-makerspaces/>

In our Summit Makerspace, students are learning about the design process, while creating, designing, inventing, and building.  Some of our creations are high-tech, using equipment like Arduinos, MaKey MaKeys, 3D printers, or Little Bit circuit kits.  Some are low-tech, using nothing more than cardboard, rubber bands, paper, and tape.
