Gene McConnachie, PhD, NADD-CC

Gene McConnachie, Ph.D., NADD-CC, Washington State Licensed Psychologist #1806, provided child and family therapy for eight years before receiving his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1993.  Gene completed his residency training for his Ph.D. at the Dept. of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington Medical School.  Gene has worked over the past 20 years as a consultant, trainer, author, and therapist for parents and other caregivers specializing in positive solutions to child and adult behavioral challenges.  He practices a Family-Centered approach that believes in a collaborative partnership with parents, assisting them to define and achieve their vision for family harmony, guiding them in positive behavior management strategies and teaching how to utilize the child's strengths and motivations to promote positive behaviors and growth and reduce child behavior problems.  He also has expertise in developmental disabilities including  Asperger's Syndrome, and is board-certified in dual diagnosis (mental health problems in those with developmental disabilities).
