New Counselors!

posted Jun 3, 2015, 6:18 PM by Douglas Chandler

We are proud to announce the addition of two new counselors to our staff.  Both of our new therapists, Karen Evans and Heidi Marsolek, have experience working with evidence-based family treatment models.  Karen works with children, teens, and families on a range of issues.  She is also trained in Art Therapy, and as a Stephen Minister.  Heidi, as a military veteran herself, has a special interest in veteran issues.  We are excited to be adding their talents and skills to our agency. They will be working out of the Everett and/or Snohomish offices, and will be accepting patients soon.   Welcome Heidi and Karen!

A New Name

posted Mar 5, 2015, 9:48 PM by Doug Chandler

As part of an agency soul-searching process, we had decided to end our relationship with our international accreditation organization.  This required, though, that we change our name as part of the disaffiliation.  (read more about this below)
After discussion amongst our board and staff, we decided to keep North Puget Sound as part of our name, as it represents an important part of our identity.  Our new name reflects both our mission, as well as our region.  We will keep our logo, or something similar to also reflect our commitment to supporting the healing of the whole person, in partnership with the host congregations and our larger community.
Stay tuned as we continue our focus on our identity, mission, and vision for the future.

We Have Gone Independent.

We have ended our affiliation agreement with the international agency of which we were a member.
As part of that change, we will be changing the name of our agency to better reflect our identity as a member of the North Puget Sound region.
Stay tuned for more details as we position ourselves to be part of our community for years to come!

Director Emeritus

posted Jan 14, 2015, 6:41 PM by Doug Chandler

John Ortmeyer, our Co-Founder and long-time Executive Director, has partially-retired, moving into Director Emeritus status.  Words cannot begin to express our appreciation of the dedication John has had for the people we serve.  Join us in thanking John for his years of sacrifice, leadership, and service.

He is not going too far, however.  John will be around here for quite some time as a counselor, and as a support to the agency.  He is just retiring from the day-to-day management of the agency.

Thank you for all of your years of leadership, John.  We are also glad to be able to keep you around.
