My name is Kelly Van Steenhuyse and I am a 3rd Grade English Mandarin Immersion Teacher. I will be teaching the ELA & Social Studies part of the day while Ms. Nie will be teaching the Math, Science piece in Chinese. We will be working together to make sure the children are understanding the 3rd grade standards.
This will be by 3rd year teaching in the DLI program at WWA & this will be by 6 year teaching at WWA! I previously taught for 5 years in the Cartwright School District teaching 5 & 6th grades before coming to WWA. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois where I taught 2nd through 5th grades starting in 2001. I received by Elementary Education degree from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Ia. in 2001. I love my job as a teacher and I wouldn't change it for the world.
