Our Mission: "To help Veterans obtain the care they earned and were promised" |
What We Do
Monthly Meetings We meet the second Monday of every month, 1PM at the Douglas County Community Center, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, NV 89410, 775-782-5500. If you're hungry, join us for lunch in the cafeteria just before the meeting. The cafeteria fills up quickly, so it is best to be seated by 11:30 AM to ensure that you will get a seat! Veteran Support WAVE offers a Nevada Veterans Advocate (NVA) service certified by the Nevada Division of Veterans Services 9AM to Noon the first and third Friday of each month at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center in the senior center conference room, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, NV. Advocate will disseminate information and make referrals to Veteran Service Officers. For appointment, contact John Louritt at 775-265-3138. Drop-ins are also welcome. We Need Your Help! The WAVE Committee is dedicated to helping Veterans. Identifying and meeting the needs of Veterans in Douglas County is our major goal. However, an individual's place of residence will not restrict WAVE's commitment to help. No Veterans will be turned away. WAVE is made up of volunteers (most of whom are Veterans, ourselves) and none of our funds go to administration. We could really use your assistance with helping Veterans in the following ways:
If you want to help, WAVE wants you! If you don't have available time to volunteer, consider making a monetary contribution at our secure account via the form in the right-hand column of this page. | Donate to WAVE
