Pennsylvania law requires that all students show proof of immunization before attending any school in the Commonwealth. Kindergarten or 1st grade students entering school for the first time are required to show proof of the following immunizations:
Diphtheria* Tetanus* (DPT) | 4 doses required, 1 dose to be given on or after the 4th birthday; 3 doses, if series started after 7 years of age | Polio | 3 doses required | Measles** | 2 doses required | Mumps** | 2 dose required | Rubella** | 1 dose required | Hepatitis B | 3 doses required, properly spaced | Chicken Pox (Varicella) | 2 doses of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or written statement from physician/designee indicating month and year of disease or proof of immunity by blood test. |
