Welcome to the new site for the Council on Aging Grey Bruce Owen Sound.

     A Council on Aging will:
  • Become the voice of seniors in our area
  • Provide networking opportunities
  • Establish a comprehensive network of resources
  • Provide an environment for knowledge exchange between stakeholders
  • Provide opportunities for dialogue on community support and health services, social and recreational activities, social inclusion, housing, transportation, outdoor spaces and buildings, employment and volunteering
  • Educate, prepare, support and advocate for seniors, their families and their caregivers so they have the tools and services to age well at home so they can enjoy a full and active lifestyle while maintaining their independence
  • Develop and deploy sweeping changes to address the approaching demographic shift

Our Mission is to be a collective voice supporting the aging experience through education and leadership.

Our Vision is a community that respects, values and empowers its older adult population and provides older adults with the opportunity to participate fully in society; therefore, the Council on Aging Grey Bruce Owen Sound:

  • Promotes and educates the public on positive attitudes to aging

  • Recognizes the uniqueness of aging in rural communities

  • Encourages the involvement of older adults in all aspects of the community

  • Fosters the development of an Age-Friendly Community
