My Personal Gradebook practices: In order to be clear and communicate through the gradebook, I have adopted the following practices. If the an assignment has a Z marked in the gradebook that means that the assignment may still be turned in. However, it should be understood that this Z does calculate as a zero until the assignment is turned in at which time credit will be earned. If the gradebook has a 0 this means that the student did not do this assignment or earned a zero credit on it and may not turn it in unless arrangements are made with me personally. Lastly, any assignment with an X means that the student is excused from this assignment. This assignment is not calculated in the overall grade for the class.
