Personal Biography
As an individual, I enjoy a rich life outside of the classroom! My husband and I have two grown children and 5 grandchildren. Both our son and daughter are Valdosta graduates. Goooo Cats!
During my free time, I enjoy traveling, exploring the great outdoors, and working in my yard. It's not really "work" if you enjoy it!  I am active in my church and enjoy singing in the choir.
In 2009 I received one of the highest honors of my teaching career. I was chosen by my colleagues as W.G. Nunn's Teacher of the Year, and later I was selected as Teacher of the Year for the Valdosta City Schools. That year I was fortunate to be given opportunities to learn and to represent WGN and the Valdosta City Schools from Valdosta to Atlanta and several places in between!
In 2016 I received another honor. Georgia Governor, Nathan Deal, appointed me as a Trustee to serve on the Teachers Retirement System Board. I am one of two of the ten Trustees to represent classroom teachers on the Board.
