Portugal September 2012
At the end of September, Mrs Thompson and Miss Dimes accompanied five dedicated Gladesmore students on a visit to Portugal as part of the Connecting Classrooms “Oi” Project.

Our students: Malgosia, Belle, Nicole, Yaade and Lethanuel, joined up with students and teachers from three other North London schools.

In Portugal we worked with three different Portuguese schools to exchange ideas and information about various projects each school engages in, on the topics of: inclusion, community cohesion, anti-bullying, volunteering, citizenship and international cooperation.

We spent time in each school meeting the students (who spoke fantastic English), joining in some special lessons and activities and sharing our work. Firm friendships were established and it was a great opportunity to share some of the amazing projects that go on at Gladesmore, especially Value Life and of course Everybody Dreams. The Portuguese students and staff were very impressed with the song and the videos. They even put the song on their phones to learn the words!
The weather was cloudy to start but then became lovely and warm. We even had a day at the beach!

Later this year the Portuguese teachers and students hope to visit us in Gladesmore. If you are interested in any international or citizenship projects please see Mrs. Thompson or Miss Dimes for more information.
