2023 WILDCAT INVITATIONAL
The 10th annual Wildcat Invitational at North Gaston High School will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023. Judging will be caption style in the areas of Music Performance, Visual Performance, General Effect, Percussion, Guard, and Drum Major. The overall band score will consist of the following:
Music Performance.........................40%
Visual Performance…………..……30%
General Effect...................................30%
CLASSIFICATIONS
Bands will be assigned to classes determined by the number of instrumentalists in each band. Classes will be formed to provide for a balanced distribution of bands according to the size of the bands entered. Bands may elect to enter a higher classification, but may not request to be placed in a lower class. Groups may also enter for comments only.
RATINGS
Band Ratings will be determined by the following scale:
Superior............80—100 points
Excellent...........60—79.9 points
Good.................below 60 points
AWARDS
1st, 2nd and 3rd place band in each class.
1st and 2nd place in each class for: Music Performance, Visual Performance, General Effect, Percussion, Guard, and Drum Major.
GRAND CHAMPION: 1A-2A and 3A-4A Grand Champion

The name associated with these accounts is our treasurer, Chase Jordan. Registration deadline is Friday, September 29, 2023.
Because of our performance order, registration will not open until Monday, May 1 at 8:00am and will not be considered complete until we receive the registration fee.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
We believe that all bands should have the opportunity to perform at any time of the day regardless of size. Performance order will be determined by your date of registration. Bands will not perform in order of class. If you would like to perform later in the evening, please register early! If you are doing a double header that day, please state that on the registration form so we can plan accordingly.
DIRECTIONS
North Gaston High School is easily accessible from I-40 or I-85 via US 321. Take the NC 275/NC 279 exit toward Dallas. Go .7 miles and turn left onto Oakland St. Go 1.4 miles and turn left onto Ratchford Rd. The school is on the left.
