EdTech

Educational technology, often referred to as "EdTech," is the study and practice of designing effective instruction using technology, media, and learning theory in education. EdTech is a growing profession with a rich history. That could include research, reading, writing, collaboration, communication, creation, logic, compliance, hardware, software, policy, privacy, accountability, practice, theory, etc. Educational technology works as technological tools and media that assist in the communication of knowledge, and its development and exchange for learning management systems (LMS), such as tools for student and curriculum management and education management information systems (EMIS).

Having thrive for the teaching in the present technological era I have to realize the interest, mindset and necessity of the students who are living in a fast and advanced technology oriented period. Technology is the demand of time. According to the latest data, video for homework is on the rise; mobile computing is "beyond the tipping point"; and most kids don't use traditional computers to connect to the Internet at home. Those are just three of the major trends revealed in the 2013 Speak Up Survey. Some important facts to follow are:

  • Personal Access to Mobile Devices
  • Internet Connectivity
  • Use of Video for Classwork and Homework
  • Mobile Devices for Schoolwork
  • Using Different Tools for Different Tasks

The help and use of such technology enhances my skills of learning as well as my teaching which will ultimately satisfy the student to understand and develop their knowledge.
