In addition to our traditional half-day kindergarten program, we are very excited to announce that we will be offering tuition-based full-day kindergarten. This program is optional and will be available to interested parents for their kindergarten children. PROGRAM This program is developmentally based, activity oriented and designed to enhance the kindergarten curriculum. Students will attend kindergarten for a full day from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, and will eat lunch at school. The full-day program will be staffed with a licensed teacher, and will offer a consistent schedule, a longer time to assimilate concepts and apply kindergarten skills, and additional exploration in various developmental activities. Students will also have the opportunity to experience specials in more depth, including art, music, physical education, and health. The purposes of the half-day and full-day kindergarten programs are the same. Both programs build on a child's previous learning and integrate math, reading, phonics, writing, science, and social studies. Full-day kindergarten affords the time needed for the broad variety of learning experiences necessary to maximize the growth and development of each student. Rather than extending the curriculum vertically or imposing excessive structural activities, additional time available to the full-day program allows for broadening and enriching curricular experiences. TUITION Tuition for 2017-2018 school year is $3300.00. Fees may be paid in full or on a monthly basis. At the point of acceptance into the full-day program, a non-refundable deposit of $400.00 will be required to hold your child's place in full-day kindergarten. This non-refundable deposit will be credited towards the tuition. CLASS SIZE At this time, we are planning to limit the full-day class size to approximately 20 students. In the event the number of applicants exceeds the maximum, a lottery will be held to select the students for full-day class. Those applicants not chosen for full-day kindergarten will be placed on a wait list and assigned to a half-day kindergarten class. Parents will be notified if space becomes available in a full day classroom. Once the school year begins, classroom changes will not be made. Not all students are ready for full-day kindergarten. Look for some of the following readiness signs in your child; currently attends a full day childcare program, doesn't need naps, is able to remain actively engaged throughout the day. *Must be five years old by October 1st in order to enroll in kindergarten. |
