OCTOBER 3 TTEA meeting-library 9:00 am 6 Red Apple Recycling Challenge ends 7 Fall break starts 17 No school for students - Professional Development Day 18 School resumes 25 Van Gogh Picture retakes 28 Classroom Halloween parties Hello TTE Families, I want to thank you once again for your support with the Move-a-Thon. With your help we raised over $61,000!!! Our MakerSpace is well on its way with more supplies arriving daily. I want to share what we did during our PLC Day last Friday. Our goal was to provide differentiated professional development for staff members based on their individual needs and personal professional growth plans. The sessions offered were; assessment, developing culture, literacy integration, interactive project wall, scaffolding student learning, and project calibration. Staff appreciated having a variety of sessions to choose from and learning from their colleagues. A reminder that our next PLC day will be Monday, October 17 (no school for students). Our focus that day will be how to integrate the MakerSpace and its supplies into current units of study. We want to give teachers the knowledge and support they need so that students can have the maximum benefit from the room. Again, thank you for your continued support and helping Timber Trail be the school “Where Hearts and Minds Connect”. Warmly, Michele Radke, Principal TTE CUSTOM CALENDAR - FALL AND SPRING BREAK DATES REMINDER Timber Trail Elementary follows the DCSD 2016-17 Conventional calendar. The exception to this is Monday, October 17, 2016 (Mondayafter fall break) and Monday, March 27, 2017 (Monday after spring break) when TTE students will not attend school due to teacher professional development. These two dates only pertain to Timber Trail. Other schools in the Rock Canyon feeder will have school on those two days. Timber Trail has five more minutes in our day to provide for two additional staff development days in the year. Our B.A.S.E. program will be open those days to provide a childcare option. Again, this change is only for Timber Trail Elementary, not the entire district. Timber Trail will be following all other dates as listed on the district conventional calendar which can be found here. TTE CALENDAR
