ATTENDANCE DOES MATTER-PLEASE BE IN ATTENDANCE OCTOBER 1!

Every October, school districts across Colorado are mandated by state law to count their students. This number is incredibly important, because the head count is used to determine how much state funding each district-- and in turn, each school-- receives.

School districts in Colorado receive state funding for the academic year based on enrollment. In 2013 the Douglas County School District reported a total of 67,387 students in attendance on October 1, Colorado's official "Count Day."

While Douglas County School District always encourages student attendance and participation, October 1st is important because of its direct impact on funding.  Individual school budgets are adjusted based on that day's attendance. We greatly appreciate your support on this day.
