Dear Timber Trail Elementary School Families,

Welcome back to school! We are excited to have students back after a long summer break. To set the tone for a safe and healthy school year, we invite you to join us in implementing the Student Wellness & Prevention Framework this year.Douglas County School District values the safety and well-being of each student. In fact, we know before we can create an environment conducive to learning, our students must feel safe, secure and supported. That is why we have developed an innovative Student Wellness & Prevention Framework to proactively address bullying, substance abuse, suicide, and school violence. Please help us in our mission of ensuring that all DCSD students will know “when to get help and where to get help.”

Each month our school staff will focus on a new message and/or set of skills to help us work toward this goal. This month we are introducing the purpose of the Student Wellness & Prevention Framework to our students and we are ensuring that students and parents have access to a wide range of supports and resources in the community. These resources are the first step in teaching students “when they need help and where to get help.”

We will also survey students in 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 12th grade this year to ensure that students are familiar with “when they need help and where to get help.”

Keep an eye out for next month’s topic:  Identifying feelings and learning how to ask for help.

Your child’s safety is of the utmost importance, and Timber Trail Elementary will do all we can to support every student’s well-being. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Ms. Radke, principal and/or the school psychologist, Mrs. Goering. Please consider the resources listed below and if they may be appropriate for your family.

END OF DAY MESSAGES 303.387.5700
Please call the office by 3:00 pm if you have a change of plans.  Do not email your child's teacher.  Because teachers are with students, they may not be able to check email. If your child has a substitute teacher, the substitute will be unable to receive the email.  By calling the office, this ensures that all parties will have the dismissal information.
