JANE LENZ CHOSEN AS DCSD’S ELEMENTARY EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR! We are so very proud to share that last night at the annual Apple Awards Jane Lenz, TTE's Significant Support Needs teacher, was chosen as DCSD's Elementary Educator of the Year!!! Jane is the champion cheerleader for all students and the embodiment of TTE's motto "TTE - Where Hearts and Minds Connect". This is a wonderful honor and achievement.

Timber Trail has now had three Apple Award winners; more than any other elementary school in DCSD; Kristie Krier, Elementary Educator of the Year in 2007; Michele Radke, Administrator of the Year in 2014 and Jane Lenz, Elementary Educator of the Year in 2017.

KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION FOR PARENTS OF INCOMING KINDIES Wednesday, May 10 at 6:00pm Come and meet administrators and kindergarten teachers. Learn about kindergarten curriculum and a typical school day! This meeting is for parents only. Your child will have an opportunity to meet their teacher at our "Meet and Greet" on Wednesday, August 9, 1:00pm-3:00pm. We look forward to meeting you!
LOST AND FOUND Jackets, sweaters, hats, water bottles are overtaking the cafeteria! Please stop by the cafeteria and check for lost items. Smaller items are at the front office (sunglasses, car keys, jewelry, etc). ALL items will be donated to a local charity at the end of the school year.

TIMBER TRAIL AND FRESH HARVEST FOOD BANK PARTNERSHIP We are pleased to share that TTE is kicking off our partnership with Fresh Harvest Food Bank! Fresh Harvest Food Bank is a community food share organization. The Mission of Fresh Harvest Food Bank is to provide nutrition, support and education to families throughout Douglas County and the surrounding areas. Timber Trail will be doing monthly food/clothing drives. Please check Thursday folders and posters around the school for info on monthly drives. For April/May we are collecting: * Spring and Summer clothing and shoes * School Backpacks and any unused school supplies A fun activity would be to take some time with your kiddos to go through their closet and let them pick out things that don't fit (and are in good condition), so they have the feeling of giving back and donating! Adult clothing and shoes are welcomed as well. Fresh Harvest asks that only seasonal clothing items be donated as they do not have the space to store out of season clothing. There are 2 large bins placed by the entrance of the school where items can be donated. Each week we will need a family to volunteer to pick up the donated items and drop off at Fresh Harvest Food Bank on Park Meadows Drive (across from Sam's Club), Monday-Friday between 9:00am-3:00pm (closed Thursdays). NINTH ANNUAL MOTHER SON KICKBALL Save the date September 8, 2017 4:30-DARK at Coyote Ridge Park The 9th Annual Mother Son Kickball is scheduled for September 8th, from 4:30-dark (rain date September 15th). REGISTRATION OPENS AUGUST 10. First Come First Serve Register through TTEA website on AUGUST 10 and sign/turn in written waiver. You will need to renew/register with the TTEA website before August 10th deadline. Please make sure you do this a few days before! SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR 2017-2018 Timber Trail Elementary offers the EduKit program as an option for our busy families to order supplies for the upcoming school year. The program is a time saving, simple way for you to ensure that your student has exactly the correct supplies needed to start the year off right. Avoid the back-to-school rush and going from store to store to get all of the required items. EduKit will take care of that for you. Order by June 1 for best pricing and free shipping. After June 1, kits may be purchased online through EduKit's Last Chance program until July 22. Last Chance kits will be delivered to your home shortly before school begins.
