CLASS PLACEMENT FOR 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR

It is hard to believe that April is here, and we are looking at the last six weeks of school.  In the upcoming weeks we will begin to make class placements for the 2017-18 school year.  I wanted to share with you Timber Trail's policy and procedures around class placement. Current classroom teachers meet as a grade level to build balanced classrooms for next year. This balance includes gender, learning style, support needs, etc.  After this initial placement, support staff, the Professional Learning Specialist, and I give input and make changes as necessary.  Much time, thought, and consideration is given to this process.
We are unable to take specific teacher requests for several reasons.  First, with 350 plus families, we would be unable to honor everyone's request.  In addition, we cannot guarantee that a teacher will be teaching a specific grade level as staffing changes can occur throughout the summer.  We do welcome input about your child's learning style and environment. We ask that these thoughts be shared in an email to me (michele.radke@dcsdk12.org ) and your child's current classroom teacher.  We ask that this information be shared by Friday, April 14.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
