We are very excited about our 3rd Annual Move-a-Thon! TTEA did a kick off of the Pledge Drive in each classroom yesterday.
What should you do right now?
Log on to the TTEA website at www.timbertrailparents.org and visit the Pledge Drive Participation page to get your kids enrolled for the pledge drive, get your hands on the unique website link that can be shared online and via email, and to enter the envelope (in-person) pledges they receive by cash or check.   Remember that all money must be collected by Friday, May 2nd, so if your child is collecting checks and cash they must be collected at the time the pledge is made (not after the Move-a-Thon).  Questions?  Please email move-a-thon@timbertrailparents.org

DCSD ART SHOW AT OUTLET MALL IN CASTLE ROCK

We are proud to announce the students who will be representing Timber Trail at this year's Douglas County Art Show.  This year we have a wide variety of artwork ranging from drawings to paintings and even ssculpture. The Art Show has moved and will be at the Outlet Mall in Castle Rock.  This is a new location for us and we are very excited because it is the first time that the show will include elementary, middle, and high school students.  The art show runs through noon on April 13th.   A reception will be held on Friday, April 11th form 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Stop by and check out the fabulous artwork. Congratulations to all of our terrific Timber Trail artists!

CLOTHING DRIVE CHALLENGE-RED APPLE RECYCLING UNTIL MAY 7
Clean out your closets. Help Timber Trail raise money.
Please bring your gently and beyond gently used clothing and shoes back to school and help us fill up the Red Apple Recycling donation box located in the bus loop.
We will have curbside service during a.m. drop-off through Friday, April 18th.   As you drop off your child in the morning, please let the ADULT who is opening your door know that you have items to be donated.  They will unload your donation.  A student from Timber Team (wearing red) will take it to the donation box).  For every pound we collect the school will earn money to help pay for sustainability and wellness programs throughout the year.  For more information visit www.redapplerecycling.com

NUTRITION SERVICES SURVEY
Nutrition Services is reaching out to parents at Timber Trail Elementary for feedback on our School Lunch Program.  Every school day students can choose between 3 entrees, each which consists of a whole grain and protein.  Additionally, students can choose a milk and are encouraged to take fresh fruits and vegetables from our Harvest Bar.  Our Harvest Bar is also available to all students regardless if they purchase a school lunch.  Please take a few minutes to complete this survey so we can evaluate ways for us to improve our program.
Thank you,
Nutrition Services

MAY 23-LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR 2013-2014
This is a different date than what is listed on the DCSD conventional calendar (Wednesday, May 28, 2014). Timber Trail students will end their school year before Memorial Day.  This change is possible because of the five minutes added to our start time.  Tuesday, May 27 and Wednesday, May 28 will be used as professional development days for the TTE staff. Again, this change is only for Timber Trail, not the entire district.

COMMUNITY FORUMS ON STUDENT SAFETY

Safeguarding Children: Building Resiliency
The Douglas County School District is teaming up with local law enforcement and other community partners to provide a series of regional forums on the safety of our students.
In addition to providing information about the physical safety measures we've taken, we'll be discussing the importance of psychological safety and what you can do to support your student's well-being.
