Dear Timber Trail Elementary Families,

As we work towards promoting student wellness in all areas, we want to ensure that every student in Douglas County is able to recognize when they need help and where to get help. Research shows that empowered young people gather strength and knowledge from a variety of places, people and experiences.

Based on students’ development levels, teachers will be exploring this topic in the classroom with their students:

We encourage you to support our efforts by discussing this month’s topic of “ sources of support” with your child. Check us out next month when we explore the topic of: “Are you helping or hurting someone?”

Your child’s safety is of the utmost importance, and we at Timber Trail Elementary will do all we can to support every student’s well-being.  There are many resources available to you at your student’s school (mental health provider, teacher) and in the community. If your child has expressed thoughts of harming himself/herself and you need immediate assistance, please dial 911 or bring your child to the nearest emergency room. Please consider the resources offered on the   STUDENT WELLNESS website and determine if they may be appropriate for your family.

In Partnership,

Michele Radke, Principal

Nicole Goering, Ed.S., NCSP- Licensed School Psychologist

If you plan to attend,  please RSVP to  colette.compoz@dcsdk12.org. More information can be found at the following links; Master Capital Plan and Capital Master Plan Community Outreach.  We hope to see you Monday morning.

ATTENDANCE-24 HOUR LINE  303.387.5702
We have noticed an increase in tardies at Timber Trail.
It is important that children arrive to school on time.  A tardy child not only disrupts the class when arriving late, but he/she misses an important part of academic learning time.
First bell:   8:30 am
Tardy bell: 8:35 am  (Student must be in the classroom.)
Please call the 24 hour attendance line at 303.387.5702 by 8:30 am with any attendance issues.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION and LABELS FOR EDUCATION -DUE DATE FEBRUARY 23!
Timber Trail receives 10 cents for every Box Top submitted! Last year, we raised over $1500 for our school, just by clipping Box Tops. The classroom that has collected the most Box Tops, wins a pizza party!  Start clipping and saving those Box Tops.
We will be starting a new campaign to collect Labels for Education - these "points" can be exchanged for various items our school could use - from basketballs to paint supplies to iPads! Labels can be found on over 2,500 foods and snacks that you already use, including Campbell's soup, V8, Goldfish, Emerald nuts, Pepperidge Farm cookies and Dannon yogurts and more. Click here to download a full list of products. You can send them in with your box tops and we'll do the rest! Please include the actual barcode Box Tops and Labels for Education due date is February 23!

BOOK SWAP COLLECTION STARTS THIS FRIDAY!

In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday week, we are having a school Book Swap on Friday, March 6th!

Perhaps your child may have outgrown or lost interest in some gently used books in your home?

Please consider donating them to our 1st Book Swap!

We will have collection bins in the TTE library starting February 6.

On March 6 all students will be able to pick a book to keep!

Please go through your books and have your child bring in one (or many!) gently used books for the Book Swap.  On March 6th, every child will choose one book regardless of how many he/she donates.  With past experience at another school, we are generally low on books for the older grades, so please keep (appropriate) adult and reference books in mind too!
