INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURE Douglas County School District takes the safety of our students, staff, parents and community members extremely seriously. IN THE EVENT OF A DELAYED START Timber Trail Elementary's start time is 10:00 am ( 10:05 am tardy bell), with a drop off time starting at 9:50 am. Bus routes are on a 90 minute delayed schedule. Morning enrichment classes are canceled. Child care (B.A.S.E.) is also on a 90 minute delayed start. Dismissal time does not change with a delayed start. This means that morning kindergarten will still dismiss at 11:30 am. Afternoon kindergarten will begin at their regular time of 12:30 pm. All students will dismiss at 3:30 pm. As always, safety comes first. If parents choose to keep children home for safety concerns, we will respect that decision. Please call the Attendance Line at 303.387.5702 if your child will not be in class. **REMINDER-PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD IS DRESSED APPROPRIATELY FOR WINTER WEATHER.
ORDER YOUR CLASSBOOK TODAY! ClassBooks order deadline is MARCH 2, 2015 . Orders will not be taken after that date. Anything after March 2nd cannot be accommodated, but a generic cover version of each book will be available at the time of delivery for $5 extra ($45 K-4th grade and $55 for 5th grade). CMAS/PARCC TESTING SCHEDULE FOR GRADES 3, 4, 5 Click HERE for TTE’S TESTING SCHEDULE CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) This is Colorado’s standards-based assessment designed to measure the Colorado Academic Standards. Grades 4, 5. PARCC (Partnerships for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) is a multi-state assessment consortium that is developing shared English language arts (ELA) and mathematics assessments. Grades 3, 4, 5. It is important that students are present and on time on the days of testing. Please avoid scheduling trips and appointments for you child during this time. Also, be sure that your child is well rested and has a good breakfast on testing days.
BOOK SWAP COLLECTION THROUGH MARCH 5th In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday week, we are having a school Book Swap on Friday, March 6th! Perhaps your child may have outgrown or lost interest in some gently used books in your home? Please consider donating them to our first Book Swap! We will have collection bins in the TTE library. On March 6th all students will be able to pick a book to keep! Please go through your books and have your child bring in one (or many!) gently used books for the Book Swap. OnMarch 6th, every child will choose one book regardless of how many he/she donates. With past experience at another school, we are generally low on books for the older grades, so please keep (appropriate) adult and reference books in mind too!
