BATTERY RECYCLING AND SAVE WATER PROJECT
Brownie Troop # 4133 needs our help in protecting our water! Battery recycling is an activity that aims to reduce the number of batteries being disposed as municipal solid waste. Batteries contain a number of heavy metals and toxic chemicals; their dumping has raised concern over risks of soil contamination and water pollution. A battery recycling bucket is located in Town Square at Timber Trail. Please help by bringing in your used small batteries.
CHOIR NEWS
On Tuesday, December 10th, 39 students in the TImber Trail 4th and 5th grade choir performed at the Azura Memory Care facility in Castle Rock. Thanks to the financial support of TTEA, students were excused from school to be a part of this wonderful community service project. Singers came away from this experience with a sense of compassion and gratitude, and with inspiration to continue volunteering. Some of the repertoire included a large jazz feature accompanied by show props such as top hats, canes, white gloves, and sequined bow ties. The final selection was a song that fused hip-hop with the popular classical composition Pachelbel's Canon in D, and featured a variety of student musicians, violinists, rappers, and a guest second grade piano accompanist. Choir was offered this fall as an enrichment program before school and the next choir season will start up again in the spring.
-Happy holidays from Mrs. Berndt
